Why should your organization be agile? What does “agility” really mean? And how do you become “agile”?
In this meetup you can experience the answers first-hand: The simulation “Agile Team in Action” provides a context where you are facing the challenges of a complex task – and you have to develop the organizational design to “getting it done”.
Organizations need to be agile in order to deal with complexity. Methods and frameworks like SCRUM, Holacracy or Sociocracy promise to tackle those challenges.
Simulations and serious games are tailored to provide an experience regarding the specific challenges of a given contexts. “Agile Team in Action” does this for complex tasks, showing the limits of linear and hierarchical structures to performance in complexity.
Unlike other agile games that focus on the quantitative aspects of workflows like throughput and output, Agile Team in Action addresses consequences of VUCA on organizational design. In “Agile Team in Action”, customer centricity, interdisciplinarity, adaptability and learning are key ingredients in success.

This is another dynamic learning and experience at the Agile Baden community #meetup We tested an agile game of complexity. Among other things, we tasted first-hand how strictly silo thinking can damage a business; how important it is to create transparency; how iterative approaches can improve efficiency and fulfilment.
People have different understanding of agile. For me, Agile means first and foremost a state of being, to be ok with being authentic and imperfect. Meanwhile knowing the complexity arena and adopt agile methods in the right context. There is no silver bullet. I could only emphasize time and again, take a systemic view, use common sense and be brave to challenge the status quo.
